Plus size alternative clothing

If you're a curvy lady, dressing alternatively can be a nightmare, with mainstream brands sticking to smaller sizes for most of their wares it can often leave you feeling like your banging your head against a brick wall trying to find something that fits and looks fabulous.

Thankfully this year it seems the tables have stated to turn, sure you can find an abundance of custom made and made to measure designers out on the alternative market, but we know that you also like your gorgeous off the peg, ready to wear pieces just as much. We've been digging around at trade shows as well as online to find well known alternative brands who cater to plus sizes.

Alternative

For those of you who prefer your clothing to have a general alternative look companies such as Sohos have started introducing plus sizes to their own branded range of jeans and tops for those days when you prefer more alternative casual wear.

Brands like Poizen industries, Death Kitty & Hell Bunny have recently introduced a wider range of sizes into their designs. Some however still stop at the size 14 mark, but a select range of designs do go up from sizes 16 - 20.

Gothic

For gorgeous gothic attire look no further than Necessary Evil with new designs being introduced up to sizes 22 in plenty of curvaceous and sultry cuts.

Phaze have also been introducing plus sizes into their range, primarily in corset and Basque designs at the moment, with some pvc items also.

Rockabilly

Collectif have long been including plus size designs in their ranges going all the way up to a size 26. You can find plenty of tops, dresses and skirts amongst their plus size items.

Glamour bunny also cater for plus sizes, a label initially created to design curvier dresses that truly flatter those shapes! Their range is purely dresses at the moment, but you can find plenty for those special occasions!

At the present time quite a few big branded alternative labels have still yet to push their size charts up. Whilst some may have large & x-large labels they are sadly around a size 12-14 still.. we've taken in account all labels who go above a size 16 and beyond for our list.
